Updated 6/2/09 Scar has found an amazing family in Larchmont. fun-loving character. He is the type of dog that would really benefit from someone with him 24 hours a day. I think that he would really flourish with an immense amount of attention and he could be trained to do almost anything, he is that smart.
____________________________________________________Updated 6/1/09 THESE BEAUTIFUL GIRLS WERE ADOPTED YESTERDAY AND WILL STAY TOGETHER. Calling all LAB LOVERS, 2 SWEET females who need to stay together........
The owners are giving them up b/c they had a baby, and can no longer care for them. The owners have also agreed to hold onto them until they can be placed, I have been the girls dog walker since they were 3 months old and love them madly, and I am so upset about this....so I am doing everything I can to get to a better place....they are wonderful loving souls. ____________________________________________________Updated 6/1/09 Never heard back and hope that Lola found a good home. 4/28/09 Lola needs a home!!! If interested please e-mail me and I will send you the pictures. For some reason I am having trouble posting them. Very friendly and cute 2.5 year-old Jack Russell terrier (no papers) needs a good home. Lola doesn’t yip, bark or bite (she’s not your typical Jack Russell), is great with kids, and has a loving personality. She is spayed and up to date on her Rabies vaccinations. Comes with everything you need: crate, food, toys, leashes, etc. I’m graduating college and getting a real job – Dad says I can no longer afford a dog *** If interested, please call Mo Catalano at 515-0932 or e-mail me at pocatalano@gmail.com OR call Russ and Eileen at 938-8566 __________________________________________________________

Updated 4/8/09 Unsure of placement. I could not get an update:
12/3/08 ROCCO is a 2 year old male German Shepherd who lived with a 9 year old boxer. He is good with other dogs and has a great personality. He is a purebred Shepherd but is on the small side. His owner moved to Georgia and left the 2 dogs behind. We were able to get the Boxer into Boxer Rescue but there is no room for poor Rocco. So, he is in the Elmsford Shelter and as you know Shepherds don't do well in these places. Please help him if you can or if you know of anyone looking for a great dog, send them over to Elmsford. 914-592-7362 Thanks. Barbara

Updated 2/8/09
2/1/09 Rocky found a very happy home with a new cuddly playmate.
1/6/09 Rocky: 5-year-old gorgeous Maine Coon
- Neutered, negative for FIV/Feline Leukemia, all shots are current, has his claws
- Exceptionally soft, immaculately clean fur (he spends a lot of time grooming!)
- We call him the "cowardly lion" because he not aggressive at all and is very shy until he gets to know you, but then is incredibly affectionate and sweet.
- Loves to play with kitty toys and can fetch!
- Recently lost his "brother" kitty to old age and is desperate for a loving companion. He will do well with an equally sweet kitty companion he can cuddle and groom. He will NOT do well in a household with an aggressive/territorial kitty because he himself is not that way.

Update: Daisy was adopted by a loving family.

Daisy is just about one of the best dogs we have ever had at the shelter...When she first arrived, she was a puppy with a bad limp that was caused by an old break that was never tended to..She had trouble walking ,but she never gave up...Volunteers collected enough money for the delicate surgery that repaired the two bones that were rubbing against each other and causing her severe pain....Poor Daisy had to spend the next 6 weeks on cage rest...She was such a good girl...Waiting patiently for a treat or a very short walk...She is now healed and can have a home of her own where she will get all the love and attention she deserves...No small children as Daisy needs to be in a fairly quiet environment due to the delicate nature of the break she suffered....She can now put pressure on her leg but she still limps...She can do anything and everything .She is already spayed , 8 months old and 40 lbs

Update: Midnight was saved. A trainer in MD adopted her and is working with her.
My name is Kristen and I'm writing to you on behalf of a dog who is at a kill shelter, and her time is almost up.
Her name is Midnight, and she is a Chocolate Lab/Rottie mix. She is at the Yonkers Animal Shelter in Yonkers, NY. She's five years old, and a very calm dog, and when her family moved to AZ, they dumped her at the shelter. They didn't bother to check that it is a kill shelter, and now Midnight's days are VERY numbered. I can't stress that enough. She has been given a stay of execution only because a few of us promised we would do everything in our power to get her out of there and into either a rescue or permanent home.
I know that you probably receive many of these letters and pleas every day, and I'm sorry to have just added to that. I've corresponded with some of you in the past, and others I was given your e-mail address or websites through other volunteers at the shelter.
I am asking you to PLEASE consider taking her into your rescue. I know how stretched thin you all are, and again, I apologize for having to ask this of you, but you're our only hope of saving her. If you can, I'll make a good contribution to your rescue as a thank you. And if you cannot take her in, PLEASE crosspost or forward this to as many people as possible. The shelter is at full capacity. We can provide transportation.
I'll also attach the flier we've made for her. If you know of anyplace that you can post it, whether you have a cork board in your building at work, or go to any shops or restaurants that do, please print out the attachment and post it for Midnight. We'd really appreciate it. The contact information for the shelter's adoption coordinator, Leslie, is listed below. She can also better provide you with more details about Midnight.
We really need to get her a home ASAP. Please help.
Thanks,
Kristen

Update: Amber was reunited with her family!!
Sweet Homeless Dalmatian for Adoption - New York City area
Date: Wed, 24 Oct 2007 09:23:44 -0400 (EDT)
http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=9482211
Sweet Homeless Dalmatian for Adoption (She is located in Staten Island, New York, but will travel for the right home)
Amber is a sweet, cute and pretty brown (liver) spotted female dalmatian around 7 years old! I found her as a stray on my way home from work! She was wandering the streets of Staten Island searching for food and a place to lay her head. She was about to drop from weakness, so I took her home! I placed a found report with the NYC ACC and checked with local papers and vet offices to find out if someone lost her, but no one was looking to find her! Poor girl! She is now doing well, though she has to be in a crate most of the day! She has been to the vet and is already spayed and is now up to date with shots! Her blood work showed that she is in good health. The vet said she will need to be on a low protein diet which is normal for mature dogs! She does drink lots of water, so she needs to have access to a yard and/or many walks each day! I think she would be great for an elderly person or couple, who is low keyed and has time to spend with her! All she needs is love, food,
lots of water, and a place to rest most of the day! If you are interested in adopting or fostering Amber, please call: 347-466-0837 or email me at: LoveAllAnimals7@yahoo.com for more info.
